Book Review - Before We Kiss (Fool's Gold #14) by Susan Mallery

Image
ABOUT THE BOOK Former pro-football kicker Sam Ridge has notoriously bad luck with women—from cheaters to fame chasers. Still, the gorgeous brunette at the bar in Fool's Gold looks harmless—until she takes him home and he discovers a room devoted to securing a man, for life. Dellina Hopkins never guessed that storing gowns from a friend's bridal boutique would chase away her first and only fling. After her parents died, she skipped her "wild youth" to raise her sisters. She doesn't want forever from Sam, but one night—all night—would've been nice. His clean getaway gets messy when his firm hires Dellina to plan an event. As long hours lead to late nights, the two succumb to temptation again. Has Sam's luck finally changed? Or this time, will Dellina be the one to run? REVIEW I love Sam Ridge.  He is absolutely the straight man living in a world of comedy/tragedy.  It is difficult to believe that one person would have the kind of bad ...

Book Review - Breaching the Billionaire: Alethea’s Redemption (Book 6) by Ruth Cardello

Image
The final book of the Legacy Collection turns out to be one of the best of the series.  I went into the book questioning how Cardello would be able to redeem Alethea, but had faith that she would find a way.  Cardello does a wonderful job of getting into Alethea’s head and helping the reader understand her motivations for what she has done in the past and for the questionable decisions she makes even in this book.  Marc and Alethea are a great couple.  There is a twist of forbidden romance, unrequited love, and damaged souls finding each other that make this romance more dynamic. All the characters from the previous books make appearances, and if the reader didn’t love Dominic from book 1 before, they will absolutely fall in love with him after this book. OVERALL RATING - 4 STARS! MATURITY RATING - 18 + a little steamy ABOUT THE AUTHOR I live on a small farm in Northern Rhode Island with my husband, three children, three dogs, two horses, one ...

Book Review - Begin Again by Christy Newton

I received a free copy of Begin Again , the first book in the Crimson Romance series by Christy Newton, in exchange for an honest review.  I honestly loved this book and these characters.  I was able to read the book in one setting during a 5 hour flight, and was grateful that I never had to put it down.  Christy Newton has written a wonder novel about two strong characters who find their way to each other, in spite of their past baggage they each bring to the relationship. Ryan is a rare hero who is a unique combination of being a good guy who stands up for what he believes in. He means well, but doesn't always do exactly the right thing at the right time. In short, he's a real life guy that doesn't leave unrealistic expectations of men for single ladies out there, and reminds the reader that good guys do still exist. Maisie is a broken woman just trying to get through each day without the painful reminders of her past. She isn't looking for love and instead ...
