ABOUT THE BOOK

When fire and ice collide, you get steam…

But Grace is also a scientist, and when someone learns she possesses the knowledge necessary to create a new super virus capable of destroying entire nations, she becomes a target for terror groups and foreign governments alike.

Garrett “Iceman” Spencer didn’t join the Army’s elite Hostile Operations Team to babysit a spoiled rich girl, but when his superiors insist on assigning him to a senator’s daughter as her security detail, he has no choice but to comply.

It’s a shock to find that beneath the glasses and serious scowl, Grace Campbell burns hot. And Garrett, who’s been burned before, suddenly wants to immerse himself in the flames.

REVIEW

I have really enjoyed getting to know the heroes on the HOT special ops team and the women who fall in love with them.  Grace and Garrett were no exception.  This book had a great mix of heat, mystery, and story, and Harris seems to get a little bit better in each book at doing this.

If you like books about tattooed badass military men, this book (and series!) is for you!

Meldon
Title: The Vampire of Vancouver (Lovers and Liars #2)

Series: Lovers and Liars
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Cover by: Humble Nation
Release Date: February 10, 2015

~ Synopsis ~
The Vampire of Vancouver (Lovers and Liars, #2)
Aphrodite, goddess of love and lust, is not impressed. After giving up her penthouse suite in trendy Manhattan to go monster hunting around the world, she finds herself in a sad hotel room in Vancouver with a decidedly distracted Loki. She hadn't expected this job to be so serious, and her Norse partner isn't exactly bowing to her whims these days. What was the point in coming with him if they weren’t beneath the sheets all hours of the day? It seems like such a waste of sexual compatibility. Humph.
Meanwhile, Loki, Norse trickster, is equally unimpressed. He hadn't thought taking a beautiful partner along would make his work so difficult. Her unfocused energy grates on his nerves, and his lust for her is only surpassed by his desire for more godly power. He will complete this job, whether she likes it or not, and he’ll walk away one step closer to regaining his old abilities. Now, if only he can get his partner to focus on the task at hand, not seduction. Ridiculous woman.
Aphrodite and Loki, an unlikely team if there ever was one, find themselves in the City of Vancouver hunting vampires. The job is pretty straightforward: rescue the damsel, kill the monster. Unfortunately, even the easiest of jobs hardly ever go according to plan.

Release Day Blitz - Fashioned for Power (Women of Power) by Kathleen Brooks

Allegra Simpson is the Vice President of Simpson Fashion and she's always handled life like her mother taught her — with manners and a smile. But Allegra learns being nice can get you in trouble as someone haunts her from the shadows and turns her life to one of secrets. She fears she’ll never be able to have a relationship with Finn, because it would put everyone she loves in danger.

Finn Williams had a promising professional baseball career until an injury disrupted everything. But Finn wouldn't let that stop him. He went to law school and started his own sports agency with the support of the Simpson family. The only thing missing was Allegra’s love. The chemistry between the two had been undeniable. But Finn knew there was something that Allegra is holding back from him. He just has to get her to trust him enough to tell him.

The man in the shadows is watching. He’s always watching. He knows Allegra’s every move. He’s been in her house, laid in her bed, and has plans to make her love him. She rejected him, but they are destined for each other. He’s seen her with Finn and knows this new man is no match for him. Soon she’ll come to see they are meant to be. Because if he can’t have her, then no one can.

Excerpt:

As she headed back to her room, she looked back at the flowers. A card stuck out the side. She wondered if Finn had written something sweet or something naughty to her. Allegra grinned with anticipation as she reached for the red envelope and pulled out the white card. She turned it over. There was only one word written on it . . . Whore.

Allegra felt her knees give out as she collapsed on the floor. He was here. Harry was here. Clutching the phone, she struggled to enter her passcode. Her fingers shook and she kept hitting the wrong buttons. With every wrong number, she felt her vision blur. She struggled to breathe. Finally she entered the right numbers and called the only person who knew the truth.

“Damien, he’s here. He’s in New York.”
---------------------------------
Damn Harry. He was ruining friendships and relationships. It took her months just to trust Finn enough to tell him what was going on, and now she had the feeling that she got the brush-off tonight. She would have to talk to him tomorrow. Maybe Harry threatened him. Finn loved her; she knew he did. Threatening her was the only reason that Finn would back away from her. This relationship meant too much for her to sit back and do nothing as it fell apart.
"Here, honey, have a piece of pie. It’ll put a smile on that beautiful face,” her mother said as a slice of pumpkin pie was placed in front of her.
“Thank you, Mom,” Allegra smiled. She felt better. She wasn’t going to sit back and watch life happen to her. No, she was going to take a page out of her sisters’ book and go after what she wanted.
“You know what else will put a smile on your face . . .?”
“Shirley!” the women all groaned as Nate and Reid laughed. The bodyguard could only cringe.

Book Review - Just a Little Crush by Rentia Pizzitola

ABOUT THE BOOK

Good girls stay away from Ryder Briggs . . . or, at least, they try to. In Renita Pizzitola’s emotional novel of heartache and seduction, one college freshman just can’t get enough.

Brinley Dawson doesn't drink, she studies—and despite the accusations of her alcoholic mother, she’s still a virgin. But if Brinley’s life is so put together, why is she freaking out to be going to college with the gorgeous, green-eyed jerk she kissed on a stupid dare in high school? Ryder Briggs can have any girl he wants . . . and the rumors say that he does. So why, after publicly embarrassing Brinley four years ago, is he suddenly acting like he’s interested?

Ryder never forgot Brinley. In fact, those perfect seven minutes permanently raised the bar for what a kiss could be. The truth is, Ryder doesn’t dare get too close to anyone. He knows how that worked out for his parents. But when his roommate takes a shot at Brinley, Ryder can’t contain his jealousy. Now he must do the hardest thing he’s ever done: forget about sex and convince Brinley his feelings are real.

Brinley isn’t sure whether she believes Ryder, but for the first time, her body isn’t playing by the rules. Then she discovers that she’s an unwilling part of a cruel game, humiliating her all over again—and Ryder might be to blame. Has Brinley’s little crush turned into a huge mistake . . . or has she found the one guy worth trusting with her heart?

REVIEW

A boy and a girl share a kiss in High School that neither of them can forget. Boy is dumb. Girl gets mad. Years later they meet again. Pizzitola does a great job making this story work. I love Ryder as a hero. He has flaws and baggage, but deep down he is a good guy. Brinley on the other hand is kind of a weak heroine. Brinley never really gets mad, even when she has every right to. The major conflicts in this story are great conflicts, and seem to be too easily resolved.

I still really enjoyed reading the story, and would recommend to anyone who enjoys New Adult romance.

Book Review - Unforgettable by Shannon Richard

ABOUT THE BOOK

Attorney Hannah Sterling lives a life she's worked hard for. So when she unexpectedly inherits an inn, Hannah decides to take that long overdue holiday and settle her eccentric grandmother's estate. She knew there would be challenges, but what's hardest about returning to Mirabelle, Florida, is facing the man who gave her the most passionate summer of her life-and then broke her heart.

Nathanial Shepard never forgot the redheaded goddess who lit up his world and got away. Now that she's home, Shep vows to make up for their years apart-and if the fire in her kiss is any indication, they're well on their way. But when a devastating secret from their past threatens their future, Shep must fight to heal Hannah's heart. Because this time, their love will truly be unforgettable...

REVIEW

Unforgettable is a well written second chance romance that is part of the Country Roads series.  It can easily be read as a standalone, although you will likely want to go back and read the previous books once you read this one.  Hannah and Shep were both very easy to relate to and likable characters.  The story keeps the reader engaged and rooting for the couple throughout the book.  She also does a great job of having the secondary characters add to the story, rather than just “catch-up” readers of the previous books on their lives.

I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a fun, sexy, and romantic romance.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Shannon Richard grew up in the Panhandle of Florida as the baby sister of two overly protective but loving brothers. She was raised by a more than somewhat eccentric mother, a self-proclaimed vocabularist who showed her how to get lost in a book, and a father who passed on his love for coffee and really loud music. She graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s in English literature and still lives in Tallahassee, where she battles everyday life with writing, reading, and a rant every once in a while. Okay, so the rants might happen on a regular basis. She’s still waiting for her Southern, scruffy Mr. Darcy, and in the meantime writes love stories to indulge her overactive imagination. Oh, and she’s a pretty big fan of the whimsy.

Book Review - Love Me Sweet by Tracy Brogan

ABOUT THE BOOK

Delaney Masterson isn’t looking for fame.

Yes, she has famous parents and a reality TV show, but she’s not the wild-child celebrity the paparazzi have painted her to be. Until…The Scandal. When an old boyfriend releases a private video, Delaney’s name becomes every comedian’s favorite punch line. To escape the media, she sneaks away to Bell Harbor, Michigan—during the worst winter in fifty years.

Adventure show cameraman Grant Connelly has stayed away from Bell Harbor—mostly by choice—but when a family obligation converges with a spontaneous career decision, it’s time to return home.

When bad weather, missing money, honky-tonk musicians, and Elvis impersonators throw Grant and Delaney together on an unexpected road trip, emotions get all shook up. They know only fools fall in love, but they can’t help falling. Still, Delaney has a secret that could tear them apart forever.

Can they weather the storm? Or will this romantic ride end at the Heartbreak Hotel?

REVIEW

I became a fan of the Bell Harbor books through the Kindle Unlimited program, and when I saw another book released in the series I had to read it.  I was not at all disappointed, and immediately fell in love with Delandy and Grant.  Brogan does a great job of creating interesting and relatable characters, even when they are in the entertainment industry.  I found Grant particularly interesting, as he had been discussed somewhat negatively in previous books, and there was a certain amount of redemption necessary with his character going into this story.  It was handled very well, and the author didn’t excuse his previous actions but showed a man trying to right the wrongs of his past, while still showing why he made the choices he did.

I was also surprised that I was able to relate and understand a character that I’m guessing is basically Bell Harbor’s version of a Kardashian.  Delaney quickly shows she is more than just a pretty face and gives a glimpse at the repercussions of what living life in the public eye would be like.

At the end of the day though, I read these books for the story, and the story in this book is well written, romantic, and funny.  I recommend this book for anyone looking for a lighthearted contemporary romance.
